after the storm June 21, 2006

We had a series of wild storms last evening with high winds and heavy rain. As sometimes happens, we woke this morning to a beautiful Maine weather day. You know, mid 70's and blue sky, with those white fluffy clouds. After three hot and muggy days, it felt great.
My garden didn't look too bad, the delphiniums were kind of frazzled, but they will get over it. Everything else was still standing and very thoroughly watered. While I was out checking the plants, this butterfly flitted from plant to plant. It kept going back to that orange marigold, so that is where I took it's photo.
My mother in law sent me a newspaper clipping from the Bangor Daily News, about a plant nursery in that area. It looks really interesting-specializes in unusual and rare plants. The name is Evermay Nursery, and you might like to check it out, too.
