Remember this plant (aka unknown) from my August 29th post?
I heard this morning from Julia, in Maryland that it is called Butterfly Saliva. It is an annual and can be started from seed. For more info go here.

My husband and I went to Portland yesterday so that he could take some photographs of the monument to Longfellow in Longfellow Square. I walked up State Street to check out the doors on the State Street Church. Now, these are doors! Anyone who has been following my blog knows that I love brick buildings, so you know this shot made me happy. This morning, I found out through an article on the internet that this church was founded in 1852. I assume that this is the original building, but am not sure. State Street is filled with lovely old architecture from about this same time period, and is another great Portland, Maine walking area.
