The first time I saw hay rolled in the way it is in your lovely photo, it was 1972 and I was riding a train in England. Since then I have seen it rolled that way many a time, but I will always remember the first time and looking at your photo & reading your haiku reminds me of the first time I saw rolled hay. PS ‘Rolled hay’ may not be the correct term for it…
beautiful imagery, a touch of the laurie lees. wonderful.
i like the perspective in the photo. funny how bails have changed; sheaves to blocks to spirals. what next?
Lovely combination of images in words and photo.
I really like your photo and haiku. Great capture of the countryside!
I love the toil of the soil in the heartland! Lovely
That image and haiku really say “country” to me.
simple and elegant … great photo with the poem
The photo and haiku are the perfect picture of country life. Well done!
Having tossed a few bales in my lifetime… well done!
Such a lovely depiction of the autumn countryside. I remember when we used to bale (only back then it was the rectangular ones!)
Very nice.
Very lovely photo and haiku!

I can clearly smell the warmth and sweetness of the freshly cut hay. Delicious.
