gourds in fall colors October 25, 2006

I have a bowl of gourds and miniature pumpkins in the center of my kitchen table. This shot was taken with my smaller nikon, using the museum setting. The light, with that setting, is kind of golden, and I like the look of it for food photos, and other small indoor shots.

When I was on York beach in southern Maine last week, I followed this little plover for couple of minutes. The sand was fresh and clean, from the receding tide. The patterns from the water flowing out, and the tracks made for nice photos. While I was there, I also found the heart shaped stone you can see on my flickr site, when you hit tomygardenpath.

The prompt for this week is mystery, or what lies ahead. At this time of the year, I am wondering about the coming winter. In New England, people have all sorts of ways to predict the coming weather, but in the end, it all comes down to having to wait and see.

the season changes,
bringing a gentle winter

This lighthouse is down the coast from us, in Cape Neddick, Maine. We were there last week, in the late afternoon. The sky was quite dark, for most of the time, but I mananged to get this shot. It is a pretty place, in a very historic part of the state. You can’t easily tell by this photo, but you have to cross water to get to the lighthouse.
