My husband and I visited the Portland Headlight last Sunday afternoon. It was quite windy, and he thought the surf might be really high. It seems that everyone else in New England had the same idea. The park was crowded with photographers. I had to stand in line at the lookouts along the cliff trail to take a few quick shots. On top of that, we had heavy rain the day before, and I was worried enough about standing on the cliff edges without having 8 or 9 people crowded there with me. The rocks below the surrounding the lighthouse were covered with men with tripods shooting both the buildings and the sea birds in the surf.
Since I love to be out in the wind and weather, it was a great day. Can’t say that I got the greatest shots, though. This one is a composite of the a view from the trail, (north side) and a shot standing just below the lighthouse.
