This shot was taken from the side, and this limb is from another rose bush I gave her. It is some sort of old fashioned rose that I brought down from my mother in law’s house in Bangor. My mother in law didn’t know the name of of the rose, as it was there when she moved in. Whatever it is, the fragrance is unbelievable. This rose is pink with single flowers, and has a habit of sending out runners everywhere. I will write more about it at another time.

Nice picture, Sandy. I have two of those wheels and love to take pics through the spokes. Your MIL’s rose sounds lovely. I don’t have any roses, but I like to see them in other people’s gardens.
The main route I travel just about every day has a guy who sets up antiques (& junk) for sale. I saw a big wagon wheel one day and was tempted to pull over to ask how much, but didn’t. It wasn’t there when I drove by the next day. Missed my chance to have one. What a great backdrop it makes for a rose!
Ooh… I bet the Henry Kelsey roses look gorgeous against that. I am planning to plant a Dortmund, which is related, this spring. Can I trouble you for a picture of the HK’s next year while they are blooming?
Kim,
Sure, if I don’t remember, please remind me!!
