Looks like Soft-stem Bulrush (Scirpus validus). A very pretty, yet solitary feeling photo.

Pam, I took in on Sunday, and Meredith, thanks for letting me know what the plant is. I usually don’t get to this pond in the winter because of snow. It has a totally different look this time of year.
