When I was coming out of the woods last Sunday morning I noticed these tracks meandering across the hayfield. I took a quick shot, thinking I would use the tracks in some way. When I downloaded my camera, I saw that the photo was not very good, but I did like the composition of the shot. So I took it to Corel and fiddled with it until I got this.

prompt-roots/connection
I feel the strongest connection to the earth while tending my garden. What could be better that working under the sun, in the presence of flowers and butterflies? There is always something new source of wonder happening, whether it is the unfurling of a new blossom, or an exotic visitor dropping by.

Yesterday began clear and cold! I could tell the sunrise was going to be pretty, so bundled up, and went out to wait for this shot. This morning is much warmer, 17º, with snow flurries.

I have always been able to see these colored sparkles flashing off the icicles outside my window, but until I got my new camera, (nikon d200) I wasn’t able to capture them. Besides red and green, I caught shades of orange, yellow and pink.
