While standing by a grove of small pine trees the other day in the woods, I decided that a desktop shot of them would be nice. The mid section of this photo now fills my screen. Too bad I couldn’t capture the piney fragrance to go with it.
Look at all the life forms growing on this tree trunk! More moss and lichen than I can identify. Even the trees in my yard have patches on them. This particular tree is under larger ones, so spends most of the time in shade.
