I feel the strongest connection to the earth while tending my garden. What could be better that working under the sun, in the presence of flowers and butterflies? There is always something new source of wonder happening, whether it is the unfurling of a new blossom, or an exotic visitor dropping by.

How true Sandy. I can’t wait to feel the sun on my back as I’m working in the garden and seeing what is new every day. Your poppy is so gorgeous – just what I need on this very chilly day!
I love this haiku, sandy! Great spirit to it.
Mmmmm. Sandy, that is very nice. Being in California, we always get the worst of our winter (such as its been this year) as spring is starting to make it’s presence known as well. So, it’s been raining and cold while buds are starting, we’re getting daffodils, and I find myself itching to get my hands in the soil and plant things!
What a gorgeous photo and its right about the sun too.
That is a beautiful picture! I feel as if I could just reach out and touch the petals! And the haiku is just wonderful!
Beautiful – both picture and haiku! So, true – we worship the sun, especially during these cold, rainy months. Thank you for the uplifting post!
The photo and the haiku are both gorgeous! Well done.
This haiga is awesome! Fabulous poppy
Oooh, lovely. And I first read that last line as the gardener drawing energy from the beauty of the poppy, then realized it meant the gardener and the poppy both draw from the sun’s energy. But, it works both ways for me.
Sandy,
Brillant!
The sun penetrates and nourishes all of creation, so true.
