capturing the moon-february February 2, 2007

I have decided that I will try to get a shot of the moon each month of the year. This one was taken last evening, just as the moon was coming over the tops of the trees. Instead of sitting up the tripod, (it was cold!) I braced the camera on the porch rail. Then, I put the photo through the softglow filter in GIMP. Usually, I use it on light photos, but I kind of like the way it made this one look. It took all the yellow, and enlarged the moon. If anyone else wants to do moon shots each month let me know, so we compare our views.
