My friend Hazel has some old house plants. This amaryllis was given to her granddaughter when she was little. She is in her early twenties now. Each year, it seems to bloom later, but still looks great when it does. I zapped out the background, including my hand, holding the blossoms toward the camera, and softened the edges. Another time, I will post a shot of Hazel’s 15+ year old poinsettia. It has taken on the appearance, due to a severe trimming, of a bonsai, and looks wonderful.
