A couple of weeks ago, I went into Portland looking for bulk yeast for baking bread. The store where I had been buying it was closed, and after visiting both the natural food markets recently built in the Marginal Way area, and not finding the yeast, I gave up on that. What I did see in both markets was Sweet Baby Blues! So, when I stopped in at Skillins Greenhouse to pick up some plant pots and herbs, and ran into them again, I knew I was meant to have the blues this year!!
Has anyone planted these seeds before? I don’t remember seeing this packet last season, but maybe I just missed it. Watch here for progress on my blues project. The directions say the seeds can be sown two weeks before the last frost. That should be in about a month. I am glad to report that our snow is going fast. It is a good thing too, it looks like we have a robin farm out back. Every bit of open ground is crowded with robins.
All my seedlings are doing well this spring. Some of them are ready to be transferred to individual pots. Only six more weeks until I can do my gardening outdoors!
