Last spring, I planted what was supposed to be a mixture of several lupine colors along the back of the garden. All I ended up with was blue, which is okay, because I like blue, but it would have been nice to have a couple other colors. They are just beginning for the season, and I couldn’t wait until they were fully out! I am sure I will take a few more shots while they are in bloom.

The other shot is the flowers of the woad plant. It is a tall sprawling plant used for blue dye. It is a biennial, so this is the first time it has flowered. I have tried several times to get a good shot of it, and this one isn’t really great, but the best of the lot. Here is an interesting link telling about the history and uses of the plant.
