the tomatoes are ripening August 8, 2007

We had had rain and fog for the last two days, so didn’t spend time out in the garden. This afternoon though, I could see red tomatoes on some of the bushes, so I went out to check. The Totems, which are actually patio tomatoes, had the most ready to pick. They live out in the garden now, after becoming too top heavy for the pots I had them in. I got seven off one plant and five off another. The Cherry tomatoes are just behind, and the third one I planted, Gardeners Delight, are just beginning to turn color. I haven’t tasted the Totem tomatoes yet, but they really look good.

Remember when I planted the seeds for the “blue” garden? What a disappointment that was! Only three things were really blue, these, bachelor buttons and a really dark flower I couldn’t identify. The rest were white, purple, pink and yellow.
