carol's asters

I took these shots yesterday at my friend’s farm in Phippsburg, Maine. Her asters were covered with monarch butterflies, and every one of them in perfect condition. I have more photos from the garden she and her husband’s beautiful garden to post tomorrow, so come back and look!

My asters are just starting to show a peek of pink. I so look forward to them in the fall. Those monarchs have a long journey ahead!

Oh how beautiful!

The asters are just beginning to bloom up here, but I’ve had dozens of Monarchs on the Joe Pye Weed every day. It’s such fun to sit in the garden and watch them flit about.

Just beautiful…I always enjoy seeing photos of monarchs because we don’t seem to have them here…at least I’ve never seen one. We have lots of swallowtails…both Tiger and Zebra..

Amazing! Those are such beautiful butterflies, we don’t get them over here.

Great shot. They look like they are having a meeting or a butterfly party!

Sandy, these are lovely. How often does one see several Monarchs at once? I had the cell phone to my ear last evening and watched a Monarch take a tour of my pond garden for about ten minutes. I didn’t have an extra hand!
