garden stand art October 9, 2007

I have found that my old garden stand makes a good place to take photos. The nest came down out of the white pine in front of the garden in the last storm. It has been sitting in top off a marigold plant for the last couple of weeks. The bird engineer did a great job with it. I notice that it contains more than one man made material. A piece of plastic binder twine from a hay bale is woven in tightly. There is also a strand of colored plastic worked into the bottom. The flowers are from the garden, and headed indoors to decorate the kitchen table.
This is not a pumpkin and a giant leaf. It is a 2 inch tall gourd and a tiny leaf. I took this last Saturday, when we were having lots of wind. The leaf is actually airborne in this shot. It started out leaning against the gourd. I never found it again, so this was the last shot.

I love your old garden stand- we’ve seen it dressed in all seasons.
Lynne, you are the one who said I shouldn’t paint it last year, and I am so glad I didn’t. I love the way it has grown old. Thanks!!
Great fall pictures.
Very cool pictures. That stand has aged gracefully.
Whew! These are beautiful shots!
Love the weathered wood; I have a potting bench that my longsuffering spouse wanted to paint, and I wouldn’t let him. It’s now weathering nicely to a lovely shade of grey–perfect as a backdrop, though I haven’t taken any photos as lovely as these. You’ve inspired me again!
Your garden stand does make a perfect backdrop for your photographs. That is a cool leaf with pumpkin.
Beautiful, Sandy. Isn’t it exciting to get a photo of something special before it floats away?
Those pictures are perfect seasonal shots! I also love the yellow leaf in the blue basket! Artistic impressions!
I love the shadows in the gourd and leaf photo.
Again, wonderful complementary colors.
