turkeys feasting on winterberries October 31, 2007

The winterberry bush across the street is loaded with berries this year. The turkeys make this one of their first stops each morning. As you can see, they start around the bottom of the bush, then when the lower branches are bare, fly up in to the top of the bush. We have a flock of around 30 turkeys this fall. Most of the day, they can be found in the hayfield or walking through our backyards. At night, they go in the woods to roost in a large pine.
