superstarblock

I just finished this 12 inch paper pieced block from Peggy Martin’s book Quick Strip Paper Piecing. It has a lot of pieces, 84 in all, but isn’t that hard to do. Since this is going to be a pillow for my daughter, I have added a 3 inch border. This is my second project out of this book, and I find it very easy to use.

Lovely piecework. I used to quilt years ago, but have since developed a fondness for knitting. I guess it had something to do with the fact that my youngest son barfed all over a quilt I was working on when he was 8 years old!

He apologizes for that frequently even though he’s now 35. :-)

That is so pretty Sandy. I need to get back to my quilting as soon as my schedule is back to somewhat normal.

Another beautiful quilt
I used to think I would learn — but I will enjoy beautiful work such as you are doing.

I like the pattern and the colours that you have used. Your daughter will be happy to receive this!!

You’re photos are beautiful. Do you mind if I ask what kind of camera you use? The birds are so cute. We have the hairy and the downy woodpeckers here too.

Bella Rum, I have just been to your blog. Nice! Will go back and visit later today.

I use a Nikon d200 most of the time, but some of the close up shots are done with a Nikon coollpix 4300. The d200 is a large camera, but I love it.

Beautiful star, Sandy. I am sure your daughter will be very happy to receive it.

Isn’t it amazing how paper piecing makes an intricate pattern so easy to sew? I don’t think I will ever make a quilt any other way now.
