solargulls

We always have a group of gulls resting in the hayfield behind our house right before a storm. Someone told me they come inland to ride out bad weather. I took a shot of them this morning, and later used the a solarizing filter to make it look like this. I am thinking it would do well printed on cloth and made into some sort of something. Hopefully, a good idea will come later. I can see that the gulls would look wonderful hand quilted. The original shot is next to this one on my Flickr page. Just click on the photo to get there.

The storm arrived around noon, and we have about an inch now. Thank goodness, this is not going to be a major deal. It is supposed to stay all snow. not the snow/sleet/freezing rain combos we have had the last two storms.

That would look VERY cool on a shirt. What photo software do you use again?

Lynne, this was done with a photostudio. I use it a lot more than my than my other graphic/editing software. Here is the address if you want to look at it.

You are right, it would look good on a shirt. Didn’t think of that.

I love the look of this - I’m not familiar with a solarising filter, but are the results ever beautiful. This would make a beautiful wall hanging!

I really like this affect as well.. I use the basic ACDSee so as not to be driven crazy with options .. but you have me wondering about how great this is to play with !
Thanks !

Joy, I just looked at ACDSee, and it looks good! I will have to show that one to my husband.

Yes, these are toys, aren’t they? I love them!

I know a quilter who just finished a line of crows. These gulls would be perfect.

You must use the gulls for something printed. A small blanket/throw?

Too cool. I agree, that it would make a great t-shirt. You could probably sell a ton of them to tourists this summer!
