The prompt this with for the One Single Impression haiku group this week is desert or deserted. Since I am especially interested in the high desert, I chose to use that meaning of the word.

I just love this! The colors are marvelous. DId you do the graphic yourself as well?
I love your haiku. Your artwork is really compelling. Nice job!
Yes, Barb, I did put the scene together. I love the desert palette colors, and don’t get to use them often.
Wonderful art and poem. You could frame this or put it onto a wall tile, and I bet it would sell. I’d buy it, anyway.
I love nature haikus like this. They show me visually things I have not seen before and give me new ways to look. This is beautiful.
The vibrant colors challenge the notion of an arid, bland, and sterile desert! Thanks.
Makes me want to travel through the mesas of the southwest again. Very nice.
Beautiful — both the haiku and the artwork.
Wonderful artwork! And great words!
pinpricks
I love it!!!
Sandy, I hope you intend to use your artwork for a card or calendar piece. I really like the poem and scene together.
oh geez, that is beautiful… and soooooooooo like the dez… it’s the color of the sky that always makes me come back….
Sandy, you are so talented in many things! My SIL lives in Nevada, and while I do appreciate the stark beauty of the desert when we visit her, I’m always so happy to get back to the green, green grass of home!
I like the way your haiku reflects so well the picture. It is a good one!
the beauty of the desert, so eloquently captured!
How very lovely, Sandy! Thank you!
Your picture strips the desert to its absolute essentials. Having just recently driven through Arizona, it truly is all about color.
Desert smelling of crystals in fusion, twinkles like a comet in the night.
Such inviting artwork and words.
