This was actually the first post I wrote for this week’s prompt bleeding. I have been reading a lot lately about the carbon footprint we leave behind and this is the result. Reading Raven’s thoughtful post made me decide it was maybe not too harsh. Visit One Single Impression for more haiku.

I really like the second haiku. Wounded but still ambling along.
We are so fearful of offending and then we don’t say what needs to be said. You have said what needs to be said. Our words, especially our poetry, can be more powerful than a rant. They draw pictures in people’s minds that will haunt them. These are beautiful.
These are strong! That second one conjures up an image of tattered ghosts moving through the world. Some days I know the feeling. How we strive to go unnoticed. Thanks for these. I enjoyed your take on this prompt.
Hi… I’m honored to get honorable mention on your post. Cool. These are both wonderful and powerful in the statement they make. I like that you move from the seeming hopelessness of the first to the cautious optimism of the second.
Wow, this is very powerful, Sandy. I’ve been in the missing lately on account of my naughty, naughty Internets (lol) but tonight I’m playing catchup…
I agree with Andree: these are necessary words Sandy and very strong images.
Those were both so stirring. The despair of the first aligned with hope in the second, I very much enjoyed these.
…two very beautiful kuz… it makes me think of the invisibles that we pass everyday w/o a backward glance…
The first is the end of all hope, while the second is at least hopeful. We are very unkind to our planet. I am hopeful!
This was very timely and well expressed. Excellent! Your presentation was well done too. Glad I stopped in. G
I love the second, and not just because it’s more hopeful. I find it more suggestive, less dictatorial, and tighter poetically. Thanks also for the link to a writer’s forum! I’ve been meaning to seek some out and haven’t gotten around to it, so this is a welcome find.
powerful ku. Well said
I’ve not visited Raven yet, but I shall. These are powerful words & images … evoking reflective consideration. Thanks for sharing. It took me a while but I managed to come up with an idea and posted this morning at Sacred Ruminations.
Hugs and blessings,
