Taken yesterday morning in the garden, just after the rain stopped. My original irises were pale yellow with purple lower petals. A few years ago, this color appeared in the patch, and has been coming back ever since.
That looks just like the one over at Northern Shade! There is something basically satisfying about that iris. No frills but pleasing.
So beautiful! I’ve got to get more irises in my yard.
I am determined to have iris next year - these are lovely.

Karen
Those are beautifully colored — caramel on chocolate?
Oh, what Nancy said…which reminds me that I should eat breakfast!
Glad to see your lovely photos again…(have had internet issues here, and not enough hours in the day).
These are so pretty Sandy.
Nancy, I have no idea what they are–they just appeared with my pale yellow ones.
Looks like a bearded iris? - beautiful combination of colours. I see wild bearded irises on the river banks in North Wales, but these in your garden have a more interesting colour.
Beautiful irises…love the color and markings on them. Sounds like they are one of those nice garden surprises that just happen from time to time.
These are just beautiful Sandy!
