From the looks of things, we are going to have a good wild blueberry year here in Maine. Lots of new patches have grown just at the edge of the woods, and the bushes have tons of blossoms.  The spot shown up above is not only a lovely place to settle down and pick berries, but also along an old road where I can always find lots of dragonflies to photograph. Like most of us, no matter what else I am doing, I am always ready to stop a take a few photos. I took these shots a couple of weeks ago, so guess I need to take a walk out to see how they are doing.

It does, indeed, look like a bumper crop…I must look around here and see how they’re doing. There’s nothing like a wild blueberry for taste!

I’ll have to check out the wild blueberries near us. Usually I notice it is a good blueberry year when I’m hiking around the area and notice all the bird poo is purple.

I would love to try some fresh wild blueberries! Somehow I just don’t think the frozen ones from Costco are quite the same ;-)

I didn’t realize that blueberry bushes got such pretty flowers on them. There nothing like fresh fruit.:)

Guess I’d better hurry up and eat the blueberries I picked last year! I think I still have a few quarts in the freezer. Hmmm, sounds like some blueberry crisp is in order.
