I bought this plant year before last. It was fairly small, and didn’t bloom much the first year. Last summer, I didn’t see the plant at all. So, I was very surprised to see red flowers appear last week. Now, I don’t know if a new plant started from seed, or if this is the original one. My garden has quite a few indian blanket flowers, so didn’t see anything strange until the blossoms came. Wherever it came from, I am happy to have a burgundy plant again.

The crazy daisies are blooming now, too. I have three large plants, and have noticed that each one is a little different. One has very full ruffled flowers, one has flowers almost like a regular daisy, and this one has these strange little tufts on the center. They were all started from the same package of seed three years ago.

I too love that burgundy color. How fantastic to have a garden that surprises you.

So great when I plant you thought was lost comes back. I had the same thing happen with a late blooming daylily I could have sworn was dead. There’s a nice, healthy fan growing and it took me a while to realise what it was!

That is a beautiful flower. I love all the daisy-types and not just because my local deer don’t eat them! :)

Lovely “daisy type” plants – they always seem to me such Happy flowers. The burgundy blanket flower is a great colour.

I still have one crazy daisy hanging on. I think we must be at the top range of their hardiness. The Shasta daisies run rampant in my yard.

I love the colour of blanket flower. It contrasts beautifully with the white daisies. I hope it keeps coming back every year!!
