The prompt for this week’s haiku is myth. What a great one for gardeners! There seems to be be some sort of myth or special property attached to every plant in the flower garden. That is one of the things I love about studying old plants, and growing them.

Did you know that the red dot in the center of queen anne’s lace symbolizes a drop of the queen’s blood? Did you know that in medieval times, flax was used to ward off witches? And, by the way, I have nothing against witchcraft. Please visit One Single Impression for more haiku about myth.

Beautiful Haiku poetry! I have perennial flax growing in my garden - not to ward off witches, but just because I like it.
