city flowers – a corel watercolor August 12, 2008

Downtown Portland, Maine has a lot of beautiful old brick buildings. In the past few years, several of them have been converted to condominiums. Some of them have made lovely sidewalk gardens outside the entrance. I took this shot last Saturday, while walking along Congress St. The terra cotta pot is huge, and all the colors used in it blend nicely into the brick surroundings. I put the photo through the watercolor feature in Corel to get this effect. It will make a great card, done museum style, on a cream or white background.
That is beautiful. I like the cascading creeping Jenny.
Lovely photo, I love the watercolor effect you achieved. It would make a beautiful care. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful!
Anyone receiving one of you beautiful cards will be fortunate, indeed!
Stunning!
I’ve never heard of Corel, I’m way behind the times on all those kinds of things, but that is a wonderful image! I imagine you could endlessly tweak and change things with some of those programs.
You sure have fun with your photos! This is beautiful!
Very nice Sandy. Reminds me of a cross between of French Impressionism and the pointillism of Seurat.
Kind Regards from England.
PS. Turning Autumnal here. Not be long for Autumnal Haiku
Tony
that will make a lovely card!
What a great picture! Maybe he froze in fear when you snapped the pic. I don’t really think so though. He doesn’t seem afraid does he? The colors are lovely.
Love all the textures mimicking each other.
It’s always a pleasure to come here and see your wonderful photos. I hope a little of your photographic talent is rubbing off on me as I see things thru your eyes.

I love the way this photograph looks with the ‘watercolor’ treatment in Corel … and I’m wondering about using Photoshop Elements on some of my photos now (making note to self). Thanks for sharing ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
This is exquisite! Thank you for sharing.
PS: I am adding you to my blogroll today, love to stop by! :<)
