My friend Hazel’s backyard is neat. For some reason, the trees and ground look totally different from my side of the street. She has lots of scrub pine and birch, and the ground is mossy. I always feel like I am up in the mountains when I am over there taking photos. She has lots of birds out back of her house, too. They seem to like the mountain top setting. Anyway, yesterday morning I was out with my camera, and noticed what I thought was frost on the haircap moss. Looking closer, I saw just a few snowflakes caught in the top of the moss. It was still only in the 20’s, and the sun hadn’t hit them yet, so I got these shots. I didn’t the snow fall, so it must have come during the night.

Just beautiful !
look at that beautifully shaped snowflake – gorgeous.
So lovely.
That’s an amazing macro shot. Thanks for the peek into beautiful miniature world that we all know is there, but almost never really see.
That is exquisite! How wonderful to be able to capture it in such detail! Aren’t they just magical?

Hi Sandy,
These photos of snowflakes are so amazing…and the single snowflake is more than amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it…in fact, I thought it wasn’t real at first! I’m so glad I stopped by! Jan
