although, I do think this is a bee, or some kind of fly. I tried to look up the saying, but couldn’t find where it comes from.If you know, please tell me. This is the first time I have actually seen ears on a bug or bee. Click on photo for a slightly larger view.

I have no idea….but I think this little bee-ish creature is thinking the same thing about your camera lens =)
That IS cute! Very nice photo.
Good as the “the bee’s knees” comes to my mind in this lovely shot though I don’t know if its a bee or not. Your photos and haiku are the bee’s knees for me. What software do you use to make the picture effect and shadow I wonder? also do you use any special lenses?
Cute photo, I’ve never seen a bug with ears either.
Sure hope one of our internet friends knows the answer — I looked through my books and — zip, zilch, zero
This is a mighty cute picture!
Looks like ears.
It might be a Dotted Bee Fly. Google them to see if it is. c:
Thanks for the visit and comment on the flower photo. I did google it and I think you’re right – fire pink. Thank you. It was bugging me not knowing the name.
I can’t tell what it is, but it is definitely “cute as”
I’m not sure which phrase you were going for. But there’s one about “as ugly as a sow’s ear”.. or a silk purse isn’t a sow’s ears.. something like that..
Pure delight is a dandy in the springtime.
