maine coast-common eiders April 28, 2009

We spent part of Sunday afternoon at Two Lights state park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine watching the ducks play in the surf.  The sky was cloudy, and we could see rain showers moving off in the distance,  but we  stayed dry until we got in the van to leave the park.

So difficult to get good photos of eiders – so much motion in those waves – its a wonder they don’t get seasicn :)

Neat shots. I had to check my life list – years ago I saw some King eiders in Vancouver, B.C. but haven’t seen one of these. Cool!
