Last summer, I found one tiny spike of blue-eyed grass out in the field. It was most likely a bird delivery, since I have never seen it around before. I took the advice of Robin, a blogger from up the coast, and tucked it in the corner of my garden. This spring, I have a nice clump of blue-eyed grass. Actually, my field guide says it is not grass at all, but a wildflower. The flowers don’t last long, but are lovely while they are with us.

I have a small patch that has mysteriously appeared in the yard too. You are right Sandy, they bloom and die so quickly,. They are so tiny and delicate. They make me smile!
Sandy, oh how I love blue flowers. I just can’t get enough of them. If you have more, bring them on. I’m following. Thanks, Carol
Nice! One of my favorites. Maybe if the snow ever quits we’ll see some here.
i love anything blue. these flowers are no exception. glad you were able to plant some in your garden to enjoy whenever they bloom.
Oh, so lovely. They were one of my favorite flowers when I was growing up and I haven’t seen them at all in Michigan. Yesterday when I was in Vermont I found one single little blue eyed flower in a horse pasture. Interesting that yours filled out once transplanted into the garden.
They are beautiful! That’s an excellent shot you made too!
Sandy I used to have the cultivated one and it was a gorgeous little thing .. I’m not sure what happened to it .. but now you have made me miss it ! LOL
Great picture with wonderful detail to it : )
