I found this beauty along a dark trail at the edge of the ocean.
You never know what you will findwhen you try a new path.
I am taking a couple weeks break from blogging.
See you when I get back.

What a beauty! You’re right: it’s good to tread a different path now and then. Enjoy your break!
I love the orange – it just pops and glows, doesn’t it?
Have a wonderful break, Sandy! Enjoy every second! Can’t wait to see what you discover on your travels
isn’t this an interesting flower? lovely color too.
Stunning photograph. The perfect picture of a perfect wildflower!
We have these tucked in the shade as well. Haven’t had time to ID it, but if you call it jewel weed that if fine with me.
Wonderful shot! Enjoy your break!
Enjoy they end of summer Sandy. Winter comes all too soon around here!
You make it look like the jewel it is! I hope you have a wonderful break.
So delicate; and what a color.
It actually looks like a jewel. I’ve been off-line – busy here at the end of the season. Have fun relaxing and take lots of photos.
If this little jewel has a “hook” then it’s the flower a neighbor once told me she hung over her ears as a child ~ jewels indeed!
Hi Sandy
What a beautiful shade of orange. Enjoy your break.

I like the yellow too! This is a very detailed image. Thank you!
It is catching the ray of sunlight perfectly…
Looking forward to your posts again when you are back.
Hope you are having a wonderful break. You are missed!
This is a stunning photo, Sandy. The little flower almost seems to have the look of an orchid to it. And it is glowing in the deep green background. I hope you have a good break, and will be looking forward to your return!
Take care,
Brenda
Nice Post!
Sandy, I’m just wanting to let you know I’m thinking of you. I’m hoping that the storms which hit the east coast did not cross paths with you.
Hoping that you and your loved ones are safe.
I did see this little flower jewelweed, the other day on my walk to work, growing in a hedge. I think this is what it was, it’s quite tiny, but looks just like the flower in your picture.

Jewelweed is one of my favorite wildflowers. You’ve captured it’s fragile beauty perfectly, Sandy. I think it’s related to Impatiens.
I hope Irene didn’t cause too much upset in your neck of the woods. We had lots of rain and a five hour power outage. Minimal wind damage, thank heavens. Enjoy your break!
One of my favorite flowers as well!
LOVE it!!
what a lovely flower, have a wonderful break
How gentle… Sandy
Peace,
Laz
I do not know this flower; it is enchanting! I hope you are enjoying yourself. From the ocean photos I just saw I’d say you are.
Is it related to spotted touch-me-not?
I think it is the same plant
Nice depth of field on a great botanical–growing up we used the crushed, juicy leaves/stems as a balm for insect bites, stings, poison ivy, etc. Gramps always believed it grew near poison ivy because nature always provides an antidote for her poisons.
This picture is a true gift, showing what creation has to offer. Such beauty out there that the untrained eye (mine) misses. Glad you were able to capture this!
